Departmental Requirements

A written dissertation proposal must be submitted to the Ph.D. committee and, when accepted, must be filed in the student's record with a statement of approval by the Committee Chair. The final accepted dissertation should be copied in sufficient quantity to provide copies to the Psychology Department, the Dean of the College, the Ph.D. Committee, and to the University. A hard-bound copy of the dissertation must be submitted to the Department.

It is the student's responsibility to be aware of and satisfy all Departmental requirements and deadlines. In addition, the student is responsible for obtaining all necessary signatures. Major professors and/or Department secretaries cannot be expected to complete these tasks. Likewise, it is the student's responsibility to check the University Catalog for all University requirements and deadlines. It is suggested that students check with the Department records person the semester before graduation regarding requirements.
